- Develop and implement initiatives and programming to enhance the professional development of UCIS staff and student workers and promote a positive and inclusive workplace and office culture. The UCIS DEIB Manager will be expected to form and chair a UCIS committee to support these efforts and create DEIB policies for the unit.
- Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive plan and set of programs to support the enrollment, academic success, retention, and wellbeing of underrepresented students into certificate programs and global experiences (including study abroad).
- Design, implement, and manage a set of programs to support the success, wellbeing, and belonging of international faculty and students, as well as visiting international scholars affiliated with UCIS.
- Engage with UCIS centers and other units to develop goals and an evaluative framework to measure progress towards those goals to promote meaningful co-curricular programming that encourages diverse viewpoints and exposes participants to a wide range of voices and experiences informing their understanding of international and global topics.
- Serve as UCIS Liaison on Pitt-wide DEIB working groups/committees to share UCIS projects, programs, and initiatives that may serve University strategic efforts and to communicate Pitt-wide efforts to UCIS colleagues.
