The Mishkon Division provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. Our core values are to provide a healthy and safe environment that promotes person centered planning, community integration, and close collaboration with families and the community. This is all accomplished through an Orthodox Jewish lens, and with an understanding that staff, at all levels of the division, is the determining factor in achieving positive outcomes for our clients.

This position will have a specialized focus on providing trauma-focused individual and group mental health support to those impacted by the war in Ukraine.These services will be split between clinical consultation offered to Hebrew Language Academy charter school and psychotherapy services at one of the Jewish Board’s outpatient mental health clinics in Brooklyn.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provision of case management, crisis intervention and brief counseling services.
• Develop and facilitate support and wellness groups.
• Provision of case consultation and training to professional and lay leadership.
• Meeting with professional and lay leadership of partners for program development.
• Referral to and coordination of services with other Jewish Community Services staff.
• Provide individual and family psychotherapy at outpatient mental health clinic.
• Maintain proper documentation in electronic health record.
  
  

EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED:

• Master’s Degree (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT).
  
  

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:

• Minimum two years’ experience preferred.
• Russian language required, Ukrainian preferred.
• Strong cultural competence in regard to Jewish religious, spiritual, cultural and communal practice.
• Solid clinical skills, and knowledgeable of evidence -based practices.
