Sanctions Analyst
Job Family
- Review domestic sanctions designations announced in the last five years and compile unclassified statements of the case for consideration for UN nomination
- Review classified domestic evidentiary packages and work with Client Agency stakeholders to obtain downgraded / unclassified information as needed/appropriate to support the nomination
- Review statements of case from Panels of Experts who have recommended targets for listing, and determine if sufficient information exists to support a UN nomination
- Manage and track communications to the sanctions committees, the CTC and the 1540 committee, and create a tracker of every request processed through the committee including tracking listing, delisting, exemption, ident request, compliance questions or notifications, and the outcome
- Track Panel of Experts recommendations and outcomes, and fulfill other data projects upon request (such as tracking Russia/PRC holds, humanitarian exemption requests across committees, Russian arms embargo notifications across committees, etc.)

- An Active Top Secret Security Clearance or ability to reactivate
- A Bachelor’s degree
- At least 9 years of professional experience
- Experience with activities relevant to sanctions designations or other determinations against legal criteria
- Ability to view problems from multiple angles and apply a variety of solutions to solving them.
- Ability to participate in and lead client-facing discussions and meetings.
- Ability to synthesize information quickly and effectively.
- Desire to support public sector clients with a foreign assistance mission.
- Advanced degree in international relations, international security studies, political science, or equivalent
