What we’re looking for

We are seeking experienced project managers to support our growing pipeline of place delivery work, based out of either our London or Manchester office.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of three years’ experience working as a project manager through the design development and construction phases of projects in the built environment.

You will be a dynamic individual with a ‘can do’ attitude, who has a passion for place and maximising social value. You’re likely looking for a fresh challenge, where you can play a more influential role within a smaller, dynamic and innovating business, and work on projects that ignite your curiosity and interest.

We are part of an entrepreneurial company growing and consolidating quickly; our work environment is fast paced. You will need to be bright, honest, agile, thrive in the moment and take responsibility to deliver. You will be able to work at a ‘big picture’ strategic level, but also be able to engage in the detail in a hands-on way. In return you will be supported in your career progression with a pro-active approach to learning and development, and work in a culture that prioritises the wellbeing of employees.

We value talent above experience, but ideally you will have:

  • At least two years’ project management experience in the built environment covering, but not be limited to:
  • Project scoping and definition
  • Design team procurement
  • Contractor procurement
  • Managing design teams and design development
  • Managing planning applications and statutory approval processes
  • Progress reporting, monitoring and evaluation
  • Risk assessment
  • Project programming and task scheduling
  • Community and stakeholder engagement
  • Client representative / Employer agent duties
  • Direct experience (not essential but preferred) of at least one of our main sectors, namely: arts and culture, built and natural heritage, place-led property development or housing.
  • Experience working for public sector clients.
  • Undergraduate degree qualification in construction project management or equivalent (ideal but not essential).
  • APM PMQ and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification, or equivalent (ideal but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to multi-task, working on a number of diverse projects simultaneously and adapting to rapidly changing situations and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including high levels of spoken and written English and an ability to present information in creative and engaging ways.
  • Adeptness and experience in the use and application of Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to build a natural rapport with co-workers, clients, and other external consultants.

You must be eligible to work in the UK.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary (depending on experience), with possible discretionary bonus
  • Company pension scheme
  • Generous holidays
  • Flexible working arrangements combining homeworking and offices based in central London and Manchester
  • Access to wider PCG infrastructure, skills and expertise to grow your career
