The Director of Sales for the Charleston Place has oversight for the hotel’s sales team and revenue they generate for the hotel. This position is strategic in nature uses business insights to develop recommendations to drive total revenue performance. The ideal candidate has previous Director of Sales experience in a luxury hotel. They have successfully led teams and driven business performance with results of increasing market share. This position reports to our Director of Sales & Marketing.

Position Summary:
  • The Director of Sales leads the team in uncovering, prospecting, and selling group and transient business as outlined in the marketing plan.
  • Active participant in building the annual budget and marketing plan strategy
  • Monitors all sales activities and ensures that group bookings are focused and coordinated with transient demand to yield optimal profitability.
  • Manages the sales team and ensures all members are maximizing revenue potential for their respective markets
  • They will lead teams to build strategic plans to impact seasonality throughout the year.
  • They will participate in team and individual sales goal setting and will coach and manage all team members to exceed their goals.
  • Their able to develop and implement standard operating procedure and ensure consistency.
  • Experience in using Delphi and setting the example for account management.
  • Working knowledge of Travelclick, and Ideas RMS is an added benefit.
  • Owns the sales process from lead generation to booking to departure and post survey
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and pricing

  • Previous experience as a Director of Sales in luxury hotels preferred with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem identification and solving
  • Proficiency in Delphi, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at once
  • Ability to operate in a team environment and develop relationships cross divisionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
