TIM is the regulated Fund manager of The Currency Exchange Fund NV (TCX or the Fund) ( TCX is a unique Alternative Investment Fund that offers hedging solutions in frontier and emerging market currencies where commercial bank alternatives are not available. It achieves this mission by providing Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and other counterparties with derivative solutions to hedge-away their currency risks. Presently, TCX has a derivatives portfolio totaling over USD 5 billion (notional value) in 50+ currencies, with the intention to double this in the coming years. The Fund’s capital base of over USD 1.2 billion has been provided by 24 leading DFIs and impact investors, including FMO, KFW, EBRD, IFC, and EIB. The Fund is rated A by S&P and Moody's. The principal source of transactions for TCX is meeting the hedging requirements of its own investors. A secondary origination channel is satisfying the hedging needs of the clients of TCX’s investors and other entities active in emerging markets. Presently, TCX trades with more than 50 counterparties. To support its commercial activity, growing number of transactions and business development TCX is looking for an Analyst in its Trading team.

Job Prospects

This is the opportunity to join the front-office of a growing organization with a mission to reduce currency risks in emerging and frontier markets.

Reporting line

Head of Trading / Chief Investment Officer.


The trading team is responsible for pricing and executing emerging frontier market currency derivatives, developing risk offsetting opportunities for portfolio management purposes, creating new products as well as managing the liquidity of the Fund.

The analyst responsibilities include:

-Assist the Head of Trading and senior staff in the team, with the preparation of market- and data analysis.

-Research and monitor developments in frontier financial markets.

-Help the team with the delivery of reports, newsletters and presentations.

-Price and execute client transactions. Will be responsible for the execution of derivative transactions and capturing transactions in front to back IT systems.

-Helps to develop and improve (digital) infrastructure and tools for pricing derivative transactions, storing relevant data and producing reports

-Meet with TCX shareholders, clients and counterparties to develop and further enhance relationships.

-Contributes actively to commercial targets of TCX.

-Providing ad-hoc solutions for analytical problems with the help of self-developed analytical tools.



No prior working experience is required for this role but any experience or affinity with financial markets is considered advantageous.


Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Econometrics, Economics or any technical/analytical degree.


This is a content-driven position that requires excellent interpersonal, analytical and written skills.

The ideal candidate is well organized, a self-starter and pro-active. Meeting deadlines and delivering on short notice can be required and therefore the candidate must have a can-do mentality. The candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where each day brings something different.

The candidate would be working in a small team and therefore being a good team player is essential.

A strong preference for candidates that can demonstrate an interest in, and passion for, emerging markets,

development economics, or impact investing.


Proficient in English with strong writing skills. Fluency in a second/third language is a plus (French, Spanish, Portuguese and/or Russian).

Computer skills

Solid grasp of the MS Office Suite notably Word and Excel. Good knowledge of ICT systems/issues generally and programming skills in any relevant language (Python, VBA) are advantageous.
